European Learning Partnerships are an opportunity to work together with partners from different countries in Europe. In our project "Making Women´s History Visible in Europe" we are looking for clues and signs, which can tell us something about the women´s history in Europe. Are there great differences between our national perspectives? How do we think about the lives of our mothers, grandmothers and so on? Can we take pride in our women´s history? What do we know, what can we know and where are fields of ignorance?

With these questiones in our mind we have had  three Transnational-Partner-Team-Meetings till today. In the first time it was most important to find together and to talk about the wishes and the projects in our own countries. Then we decided to make politics of women and fascism to the focus of our discussions. That´s also the topic for room 6 of the planned museum "House for Women´s History", which the german group tries to realize since many years. Room 6 includes the two decades 1938 to 1958. For this room the german group chose as a characteristic woman´s quotation the sentence written by Cordelia Edvardson: "During my whole lifetime I am trying to understand the world, trying to put the world together, which the Holocaust has torn apart, even though I know that this is impossible."

So we think,

  1. the desire "to put the world together" is a good idea for a transnational partner team,

  2. it´s very important also for Europe to speak about the time of the second world war and the different forms of being concerned by fascism in our countries and

  3. the two decades 1938-1958 include important years from the lives of our mothers and grandmothers.
    What have they told us?
Are there any signs of a female view, which isn´t shown in our school-books, museums and so on?
What can we learn from our own mothers, grandmothers, aunts and the women in other european countries?

In this sense we are a European Learning Partnership!
